The Lily Mae Foundation is named NEC Group’s Charity of the Year
17 January 2024The NEC Group has announced that its Charity of the Year for 2024 is local charity, The Lily Mae Foundation.
Based just seven miles from the NEC Group offices, The Lily Mae Foundation is a local Baby Loss Charity that supports parents and families after a Stillbirth, Neonatal Death, Miscarriage or Medical Termination.
The charity was chosen via an NEC Group colleague vote, from a list of worthy causes that had submitted applications to be the venue management company’s Charity of the Year.
Mark Charlampowicz, Catering General Manager and NEC Group Charity Committee Lead said: “The support that The Lily Mae Foundation gives families in their time of need and beyond is invaluable, but the charity requires visibility and funding to continue this incredible work with those in the local community around us. On behalf of the NEC Group, I am proud to be helping The Lily Mae Foundation with their efforts this year.”
Mark and his team of volunteers will be organising numerous fundraising events at each of the Group’s venues – NEC Birmingham, ICC Birmingham, the Vox, Utilita Arena Birmingham and Resorts World Arena – asking colleagues and visitors to donate whatever amount they can.
Ryan Jackson, Founder and Managing Director of the Lily Mae Foundation added: “"We are really excited and humbled to be chosen by the NEC Group to be their Charity of the Year in 2024. The size of the NEC Group enables us to highlight the important work that we do with bereaved parents following the loss of baby to a large audience. We look forward to working closely with the NEC Group and are excited to grow this partnership in the coming year."
