NEC proud to welcome back Emergency Services

The programme for 2017 will review recent incidents including Grenfell Tower fire and the recent terror attacks in London and Manchester, along with other important subjects such as mental health and well-being of emergency responders.

David Brown, Event Director of The Emergency Services Show said: “We are looking forward to returning to the NEC. The Show is a great opportunity for those in the emergency services – police, fire, ambulance, first responders, voluntary workers, search and rescue, water rescue, emergency planners – to come together and network with like-minded emergency staff.

“We have lots of new demonstrations this year including Extrication and First Aid and Trauma Challenges showcasing Road Traffic Collision rescue techniques, hosted by West Midlands Fire Service.”

West Midlands Fire Service will also be demonstrating virtual reality video and goggles being used by their Road Casualty Reduction Team to educate drivers about road safety. The service's occupational health team will also be taking part, and fire investigation dogs Kai and Cara – together with their handler, Mat – are also expected to make an appearance.

This year will be an important event as The National Emergency Services Day memorial and the official Emergency Services Day campaign, backed by Prime Minister Teresa May, will be launched at the Show.

It’s a fantastic event that really utilises to venue and the space available – such at Pendigo Lake and the adjacent areas – to demonstrate what first responders do for the public every day, showcasing new equipment, and sharing personal stories and information. We are extremely proud to host the event at the NEC.”
