Employee Commitments

Staff engagement and benefits

We work hard to ensure our staff are fully engaged in all that we do and we operate a programme of internal communications across the Group to keep them informed.

We seek staff views through our annual engagement survey and we don’t just file the results away – we action them. Major programmes which have come as a result of staff surveys include our People Forum and our “Brilliance” recognition programme and annual awards which were created to celebrate and reward the people that work in our business.

We seek staff views through our annual engagement survey and we don’t just file the results away – we action them. Major programmes which have come as a result of staff surveys include our People Forum and our “Stars” recognition programme and annual awards which were created to celebrate and reward the people that work in our business.

Staff also get involved in choosing an NEC Group Charity of the Year.

We also offer a competitive salary and a wide range of employee benefits such as private healthcare, additional holidays, free meals and ticket offers. Salaries are reviewed each year in consultation with our union and with the benefit of an external benchmarking exercise.

Our benefits form an important part of our total rewards package.

We recognise that a valued rewards package is so much more than just salary and have invested time putting in place benefits that are relevant and useful to our staff.

STAFF LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT

At the NEC Group we have career paths and a clear vision for learning and development, all of which can lead to a rewarding working life.

We offer a wide range of development opportunities through work placements, apprenticeship programmes, interventions with local colleges and universities and an extensive in-house learning and development programme, and we provide tailored plans at every stage of your career whether it’s at your induction or on the job.

Our Learning and Development team are focused on making our people the best they can be now and in the future.

Gender Pay Gap Report

We are committed to realising the potential of our people. Our approach to development - which is focused on making our people the best they can be - blends the need to provide all employees with the knowledge, skills and behaviours necessary to perform their current role with a focus on the future needs of the business and its people.

In 2017, the UK government introduced a requirement for all employers with 250 or more employees to publish and report specific figures about their gender pay gap annually. The Government Equalities Office (GEO) and the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) took the decision on 24th March 2020 to suspend enforcement of the gender pay gap deadlines for the reporting year 2019/20. The decision meant there was no requirement for employers to report their data and with major disruption due to the pandemic we took the decision not to produce a report for 2019/20.
